Hi, I’m Quinn!

On this blog you will find my thoughts about writing, tech, mental health, journaling, as well as some poetry and short stories.

Who am I?

I am a 27 year-old non-binary aspiring writer.

Some of my interests are:

• ⌨️ writing: I spend a lot of my time writing, whether it’s in my journals, for this blog, or some book projects. I have drafted 2 dystopian young adult novels and a murder mystery since I started writing seriously in 2018, as well as some LGBT novellas. I’m now trying to focus more seriously on revising a dystopian novel I first wrote in 2019, to make it as good as it can be and try to publish it.
• 📚 reading: mostly sci-fi and LGBTQ+/feminist books, you can see what I’m reading on thestorygraph. My favorite series is The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin.
• 🏳️‍🌈 feminism/LBGTQ+ rights: I don’t really think I need to explain this one! Some of my favourite resources are Liberating Motherhood for feminism and a bit fruity by Matt Bernstein for LGBTQ+ rights.
• 💻 tech: I follow closely what happens in the tech industry and how it affects politics. I am anti-LLMs and anti-crypto. Some of my favorite places to follow these news are citationneeded by Molly White and Tech won’t save us by Paris Marx.
• 🪴 plants & vermicompost: I take advantage of my balcony to grow some vegetables and aromatics, and compost scraps thanks to good little worms,
• 🚲 cycling & advocacy: I use cycling as my preferred mode of transport and am a part of the board of the local cycling advocacy group in my city, aiming to make cycling infrastructure more secure so that everyone can benefit from the health and economical benefits of cycling and reduce carbon emissions.
• 🍝 cooking: I love cooking comforting meals and am known for my cookies 🍪.
• 🎮 video games: I love playing Demon’s Souls and Elden Ring.
• 📷 photography: I don’t go out with my camera all that much these days, but I share my favorite shots on Pixelfed: @cookie@pixelfed.fr.
• 🧷 sewing: I recently started some sewing lessons and I’m really enjoying it so far!
